The department of Chemistry has begun its glorious progress with a well established laboratory in the year 2001.At present the department has nine qualified & dedicated faculty with considerable industrial & teaching experience in various disciplines of chemistry headed by Ms.N.PADMAJA. Three faculty members have M.Phil degree and one has PhD degree. The faculty of the department is handling different courses such as Engineering chemistry theory and practical’s for I/IV B.E/ B.Tech (all branches), Organic chemistry theory and practical’s, Physical & Inorganic chemistry for II/IV Biotech. & Environmental studies for II/IV B.E/B.Tech,II Semester( all branches).
The faculty members are encouraged in their research activities and permitted to participate in various National and International Seminars/ Conferences / Workshops. Senior faculty members of the department are pursuing PhD’s and are doing research work in various areas of specialization such as Computer Augmented Speciation Studies of Toxic metal ions, Photo catalysis, Drug Analysis, Chemical Kinetics.
